“Karen’s Seek For Life”

Karen is still someone trying to find out who she is. In the pursuit of determining what she wants to becoming she has created personal, college, and career goals. In an interview Karen said “As a child we never discussed the future, we lived as things came along. Even though we didn’t have an interest in it, doesn’t mean I haven’t thought about it but how do I know if it’s for me…”

“…I am well aware of what I what to be.” She also said. She came to the conclusion that she wanted to be a teacher and she didn’t have to second guess it. Now that she is a sophomore in high school she started looking into teaching colleges. “…it’s never too early to look.” We quote her. She was nice enough to tell us the ones she has looked into, Harvard University, Stanford University, Columbia University, and New York University. “These colleges are really hard to get into, further more maintain.” I said to her. “My average now is a 88 and I am working to push it higher. Once I am in college I won’t fail to maintain no less than a 4.0.” she said confidently.
“What do you plan to do after you finish college?” I asked. “Several things…” she went on to say that she would like to travel, write more books and pursue he career as a teacher. “Travel where?” I went on to ask.

“Maybe Paris, Japan, London, anywhere exciting.” She said “Maybe I can even teach there. And go to school to learn some new languages.” She was certain of what she wanted to do and how far she was planning to go.

She informed us that she loved to read and write. She is currently writing a book of her own and plans to write many more. “I always get distracted but I need to focus and finish…” she said. I questioned her use of need and she said if she puts in a way that she couldn’t live without it she was sure to finish.

“Don’t you think your dreams are too big to take on?” I asked curiously.

“Of course not. I wouldn’t consider what I want to do dreams because then I wouldn’t be sure that I would do it but I am sure. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. No matter what holds me back or however long it takes, I will achieve my goals even if I have to die trying.” She said. Even though I thought for such a young person she had huge goals, she was very convincing and I believe she could do it.
